Glimpse At Their Story:
West End Farm is a produce farm and nursery located in the heart of Herkimer County. We established the farm in 2019. We started off with a small number of flowers and a few basics on just a roadside stand. After covid we decided to grow more and get more involved in our community and the communities surrounding us. At that time Herkimer County didn’t have a lot to offer, so this is how we found Oneida County Public Market. Beth Irons and her team helped us get in touch with everyone we needed to be involved with to grow and expand who we could offer fresh local foods to. OCPM has helped form who we are today and how much we have grown. We went from a few farmers markets to several, then this year we proudly took on Herkimer County Cornell Cooperative’s Veggie Van to provide fresh local foods to under served communities. Food insecurity is an ongoing battle in many areas that many are unaware of. We take much joy in helping others! Richard proudly took on the farm this season full time to focus on providing more products and more community services! There are so many programs out there and wish we could help them all. We will, just not all at once! That is our goal!
